In the 1940s, soon after World War II, Japan was in economic chaos. Record numbers of Japan’s cities were in shambles, and there appeared to be no hope. Nevertheless, under the Marshall Plan, Japan rapidly rebuilt its economy and cities. Presently, Japan is an economic powerhouse that has predisposed the way many American industries do business. America assisted a country in need, and that country was able to recompense the United States in many diverse ways.
